TARN TARAN: An 18-year-old boy died of a drug overdose in the Valmiki colony of the village of Fatehabad, which came under the Khadoor Sahib subdivision.

Gagandeep Singh’s body was found in the village’s cremation site on Friday, family members said. They claimed that despite repeated complaints, the police had failed to contain drug trafficking in their village.

Gagandeep’s father, Ram Lubhaya, said his other two sons were also addicted to drugs. He blames the Tarn Taran government and police for failing to take action against drug traffickers.

“I had taken Gagandeep to a drug addiction center in Tarn Taran twice, but without success. He left the house on Friday morning and said his friends would call him. After a while, a villager told us that Gagandeep had injected drugs and his condition was getting worse. By the time I got to the cremation site in the village, he was dead, ”said Lubhaya.

Fatehabad Police Post Deputy Sub-Inspector Balraj Singh said, “If we receive a complaint about drug trafficking in the area, our teams will raid and take action.”
