LAKELAND, Fla. — Looking back, Kellie Huff remembers a time when her life felt like it was in pieces. That was four years ago. Today, things are different, thank you.
What You Need To Know
- Kellie Huff is now on a new life path at the Lighthouse Ministries Life Learning Program after being hooked on drugs four years ago
- Huff is now a supervisor in the Lighthouse Ministries kitchen
- Her four kids, especially her youngest, Mason and Angel, count on her to set the foundation for their lives
“I don’t have to worry about where my kids will sleep. If my kids will eat, I don’t have to worry about any of that now,” said Huff.
Since 2020, Kellie has been part of the Lighthouse Ministries Life Learning Program in Lakeland.
Four years ago, she was hooked on drugs. Today, she is on a new path with new opportunities embedded in faith, family and friends.
“When I was younger I got into a lot of trouble,” said Huff. “So people look at my background and they think that is who she is. But it is really not who I am. And they have given me the opportunity to help myself get to where I am meant to be in my life.”
Right now, that place is giving back and preparing others around her as a supervisor in the Lighthouse kitchen. Each day she learns something new.
“I am going to be able to teach my children how to cook, and I am going to be able to cook them something other than TV dinners,” said Kellie.
Her four kids, especially her youngest, Mason and Angel, count on her to set the foundation for their lives.
Kellie admits her journey is far from over. Not only did she just buy a used car, but in a week’s time, she will close on her very first home.
