New addiction treatment center opened in Lynchburg

LYNCHBURG, Va. (WDBJ) – Lynchburg is looking better for those in need of treatment for substance abuse.

BrightView recently opened a new center on Old Forest Road.

They say in just three weeks they’ve already seen high demand.

“We said there’s definitely a need here because they don’t have access so they can see a healthcare provider the same day,” said Ta’Shauna Johnson, Community Outreach Manager.

She says people who come here get help almost immediately. The process begins the moment you walk through the door.

“Our model of care is built so that you can actually come in the same day, see a healthcare provider, see a clinical consultant, and get help with case management,” Johnson said.

They say their outpatient model will help them reach more people. They say it empowers patients to have freedom.

“It allows you to still have a life, to function and to get the treatment you need – that you won’t be taken away from your family, that you won’t be taken away from your work or your daily life and you can go get it.” still get the help you need,” Johnson said.

Walk-ins are accepted until 3:00 p.m. on weekdays
