Strawberry Teen Aids County’s program to help people with mental health problems

The world can feel like a lonely place after a traumatic experience.

Strawberry’s Scarlett Goh says she is leading Caring Cards, a circle program that sends handwritten notes to Marin hospital patients struggling with mental health, thoughts of suicide, substance abuse, or other behavioral problems.

The program is an initiative of the Marin County’s Suicide Prevention Collaborative youth action team, which includes 17-year-old Scarlett. The team is one of six in the collaboration working to raise awareness and de-stigmatize mental health.
